Classical Music Released Under the Name Andrei Gulaikin

There are several musical artists using the name Gulan online. In addition, the project itself covers several different musical genres. Taken together, this has created some ambiguity around the overall catalogue.

For this reason, the classical music is now being released under the full name Andrei Gulaikin, primarily to distinguish it more clearly from the other musical projects.

The classical work remains part of the same artistic project. Some of the earlier recordings in this direction have temporarily been removed from music platforms. They are currently being reviewed and remastered, with the aim of improving the sound quality and, where necessary, the interpretation itself.

Once this work is complete, the earlier pieces will gradually return to the catalogue in updated versions. New classical releases will also be issued under the name Andrei Gulaikin.

The music is developed entirely within a digital studio. This makes it possible not only to use virtual instruments, but also to shape each part of the music in detail.

The process does not necessarily follow a linear path from beginning to end. Individual sections, passages and details can be developed independently, gradually refined, and then brought together as a whole. Notes, timing, tempo and rubato, dynamics, articulation, timbre and other parameters are adjusted manually. This way of working allows the character, movement and expression of the music to develop gradually.

At the same time, the musical structure and character of the original composition are retained.

The repertoire includes works from different periods and styles, ranging from Johann Sebastian Bach and Antonio Vivaldi to Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Sergei Rachmaninoff.

Among the works in the catalogue are:

  • J. S. Bach — Chorale Prelude in F Minor “Ich Ruf Zu Dir, Herr Jesu Christ”, BWV 639
  • J. S. Bach — Prelude in C Minor, BWV 999
  • J. S. Bach — Erbarme Dich, Mein Gott, Aria from St. Matthew Passion, BWV 244
  • Antonio Vivaldi — The Four Seasons, Violin Concerto No. 4 in F Minor, RV 297 “L’inverno” (Winter)
  • Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky — Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat Minor, Op. 23
  • Sergei Rachmaninoff — Piano Concerto No. 2 in C Minor, Op. 18, II. Adagio sostenuto

Some works are presented in full, while others are available as individual movements or fragments.
