Par autoru

GULAN ir latvijas mūziķa, skaņu dizainera un komponista Andreja Guļaikina (angliski – Andrei Gulaikin) pseidonīms[1][35]. Kā komponists viņš darbojas instrumentālās elektroniskās mūzikas jomā, t.sk. ambientās un meditatīvās, kosmiskās, Berlīnes skolas un melodiskās New Age mūzikas žanros.[2][31][32]

Andrejs Guļaikins ir dzimis 1974 gadā Rīgā. Ar mūziku nodarbojas no 7 gadu vecuma, mācījies mūzikas skolas klavierklasē. Jau no agras jaunības interesējies par 1970. – 80. gadu komponistu elektronisko mūziku, filmām un populārzinātniskiem televīzijas raidījumiem.

1990. gados strādājis par skaņu operatoru sava tēva skaņu ierakstu studijā Rīgā, vienlaikus eksperimentējot ar skaņām un īstenojot savas radošās ieceres ar analogo sintezatoru palīdzību. 2000. gadu sākumā pārcēlās uz Londonu un no 2002. gada kļuva par Artēmija Artemjeva Maskavā bāzētās kompānijas “Electroshock Records” pārstāvi Lielbritānijā un Baltijas valstīs. 2005. gadā mūziķis nodibina pats savu studiju Gulan Music Studio.[3][4]

Mediji

Kopš 2003. gada Gulana mūziku daudzkārt atskaņojušas simtiem raidstaciju visā pasaulē; tostarp Stīvena Hila sindicētais radiošovs Hearts of Space[8], kas piedāvā kosmisko mūziku plašai klausītāju auditorijai; populārais Digitally Imported internetradio, Sirius XM satelītradio un daudzi citi raidītāji.[5][6]7[9][10][11][12][13][14][32]

2006. gada augustā amerikāņu mūzikas leibla “New Vibes Music” New Age CD albums “Echoes of Tuvalu”, kurā iekļautas divas Gulana kompozīcijas, ieguva 1. vietu New Age Reporter (tagad  Zone Music Reporter)  top-100 radiorotāciju sarakstā; albums tika iekļauts 2006. gada top 20 radiorotāciju sarakstā.[15][16][17] 

2008.—2016. gadā austrāliešu sindicētā  radiošova Ison Live Radio  iknedēļas top 10 radiosarakstā The Australian Indie Radio Charts autora kompozīcijas ieņēma 1., 3., 4. un 8. vietu.[18][19][20]

2012. un 2020. gadā Gulana kosmiskās mūzikas albumi “Sphere” un “Space Projections” ir iekļuvuši Zone Music Reporter (Top 100 Radio Airplay) ikmēmeša top 100 sarakstā[21]. Albums “Cassiopea” iekļauts zviedru Apple Music iknedēļas top 100 elektroniskās mūzikas sarakstā[22], savukārt albums “Back to the Roots”  iekļauts ASV radioprogrammas “Star’s End” ikmēneša top-30 sarakstā.[23][24][33]

Sadarbības projekti

2006. un 2007. gados  sērijas “Schwingungen Auf CD” albumus ar Gulana dziesmām izlaida vācu leibls Cue-Records.[25] Mūziķis ir oficiāli atļāvis izmantot savas kompozīcijas  klipmeikeriem un augstskolu studentiem īsmetrāžas filmās dalībai festivālos[26], kā arī meditācijas, skaņu terapijas un nada jogas centriem Indijā.[27][28] Gulana kompozīcijas tiek atskaņotas dažādos TV kanālos[34], muzikāli poētiskos teātra projektos utt.[29]

2015. gadā Helmārs Rūdolfs (Helmar Rudolph),  vācu kurators, redaktors un lektors, kas pārstāv Čārlza Frensisa Hānela (Charles Francis Haanel) “Galvenās atslēgas” teoriju  (“The Master Key System”), izlaida CD izlasi  “Cloudwalk”. Šis disks piedāvā klausītājiem iepazīt Hānela teoriju ar Gulana mūzikas palīdzību.[30]
